          • Types of Training

              Training serves as a structured process aimed at enhancing the capabilities of individuals or units to execute specific tasks or skills in familiar circumstances. (Department of Defense Instruction 1400.25–V410, AR 350-1).

              Training can take the form of either events or exercises.

              Events:
              Training events represent notable training instances that are recognized, scheduled, and incorporated into a unit's training regimen.

              Exercises:
              Training exercises involve military maneuvers or simulated wartime activities carried out by military units to showcase and assess Knowledge Skills Attributes (KSA).

              Scenario development entails crafting a comprehensive and lifelike set of circumstances, conditions, and influences, referred to as the operational environment, which Soldiers may confront during a training exercise. The fundamental principles of Scenario Development are as follows:

              CREATE: Formulate outcomes that fulfill specified training and readiness objectives.

              INTERACT: Collaborate with exercise planners throughout the process.

              UNDERSTAND: Grasp the intricacies of operations, intelligence, and decision-making processes.

              LEARN: Gain insights into how the training audience will engage with the operational environment.

              The Analyze, Design, Develop, Implement, and Evaluate (ADDIE) model serves as an instructional design framework employed by numerous training professionals to devise, structure, and optimize impactful learning and development initiatives.

              This instructional model mirrors the deliberate five-step approach used in crafting scenarios to bolster training events or exercises.

              The Modeling and Simulations organization of the US Army provides a diverse range of simulation capabilities. The Joint Land Component Constructive Training Capability (JLCCTC) enables joint forces training through realistic and dynamic scenarios.

              One Semi-Automated Forces (OneSAF) simulation enhances military training by incorporating semi-automated entities, optimizing realism and complexity. The Synthetic Training Environment (STE) integrates cutting-edge technology for immersive and adaptable training experiences.

              Additionally, the Division Exercise Training and Review System (DXTRS) facilitates efficient planning, execution, and assessment of division-level exercises, contributing to the Army's readiness and effectiveness.

              The TRADOC G-2 Modeling and Simulations Division created Athena, a decision support tool designed for commanders and their staff to model human behavior dynamics within the entire Operational Environment.               Phase 2: SME-Lead Instruction

              • Duration: 4-day, Foundry-funded Mobile Training Team (MTT)
